A slightly different format of backgammon game, designed for three or more players. One player, named ‘in the box’, plays against all the others, who are grouped in a team with a leader, called the ‘Capitan’. The team may consult freely during the games; in each round another member of the team gets to be the Capitan. The game is named after the French word for ‘screech owl’, a bird that is often being attacked by all other birds.
